in Brittany.
My name is Morgane. I design, draw, cut, sew and sell every AUDEO piece myself, from my workshop in Limerzel, in Morbihan, Brittany.
From Brittany to Montréal
I did a vocational baccalaureate in fashion in Locminé, Brittany, then a two-year fashion diploma in Cholet to get better at pattern making. After that I spent a year at Cégep Marie-Victorin in Montréal, where I learned to draft patterns by hand.
Four years in marine upholstery
I worked for four years in a marine upholstery workshop. We sewed very heavy canvas, quality materials that stood up to anything. Boats only take large pieces of fabric. Over those four years I noticed how many offcuts were left over, and that they were thrown away.
I started saving them to make accessories. The longer I stayed, the more I wanted to keep making my own pieces.
Why AUDEO
In the end I devoted myself to it full time and launched AUDEO in Brittany in September 2025. I work with offcuts of new, high-quality fabric that marine upholstery and furniture companies throw away in large quantities.
The materials, piece by piece
- Bum bags and Sailor Bag
- The canvas that protects boat sails and shades decks from the sun. It lasts, resists mildew and repels water.
- Sailor Bag XL
- The marine faux leather used on outdoor boat cushions, made to stay outside.
- Toiletry bags
- The same canvas, combined with the PVC used on boat sprayhoods, which stands up to UV, rubbing and creasing.
- Tote bags
- Upholstery fabric offcuts from a headboard and bed base maker.
The zips are marine-grade YKK, the kind fitted on boats.
AUDEO comes from the Latin audeō, which means “to dare”.
